Music

Whether at Eucharist on Sunday morning or Vespers on Sunday evening, music at Incarnate Word is rich in liturgical tradition. It is traditional and creative. It is scriptural and eclectic, done with care and excellence. But above all, it is participatory as we raise our voices in song proclaiming the crucified and risen Christ. Music at Incarnate Word is anything but a “spectator sport.”

Incarnate Word is blessed by strong choral leadership. The distinguished heritage of the choir goes back thousands of years to Jewish temple worship and in the Christian era, choirs have been essential to public worship. Our choir is no exception to that tradition. Under the leadership of Mr. Thatcher Lyman, the choir of Incarnate Word is indispensable in helping the congregation find its proclamatory voice leading us in song with clarity, precision, and vigor.
